JACKSON COUNTY DEMOCRATIC PARTY

Governor Strickland continues to do a GREAT job as Govenor.  He has proven that education, compassion, dedication, determination and good old-fashioned common sense can take you a long way! Well done, Ted!  He and Francis are tireless, and work each day to make our state a better place in which to live.  Ted's approval rating remains high with the state.  If only George W. could say that!

Secretary of State, Jennifer Brunner is excellent, communicates well with the public and staff.  She works hard to ensure the rights of voters are maintained.

Congressman Zack Space continues to work bring broadband internet access to rural Ohio counties.  Zack needs our support to continue his quest with our farmers, businesses, and citizens.  He volunteered a day and helped distribute food with Jesus in the Hills and has seen first hand the needs of the rural community and basic needs, such as food and how our people struggle.  We need to keep a person such as Zack who has not only the knowledge, but the HEART.

Office Holders

Judge Mark T. Musick is serving the county well.  He is saving jail space by utilizing house arrest, and more community service for non-violent offenders, which is appealing to the tax payers and jailers of the county!  Kudos, Judge!  The court's Community Service garden will be coming this summer, which will grow vegetables used to help feed prisoners at the jail.  The 'ankle braclet' monitoring is up and running.  Innovative and fresh ideas from a resourceful judge!

Mayor Randy Heath, Auditor Jim Humphreys, City Council members Troy Adams and Randey Smith are keeping a watchful eye on our utility dollars.  They continue to meet twice a week to make sure our needs are met.   Thanks all!

Our Jackson County Democratic Party officers:  Rodney Smith, Chairman, Mike Stroth, Vice Chairman, MaryBeth Mauer, Treasurer, Jim Councilman, Secretary, Carl Sears, Parlimentarian, Russell Browning, Sargent At Arms.

CHECK OUT LISA PARKER'S WEBSITE! lisajparker.com

She IS the woman for the job and she is the woman to make history as the first woman commissioner in the county.  She has the credentials, intelligence, dedication, drive, and good old-fashioned common sense to do the job that needs to be done!  Just read and be amazed.  Or better yet, meet her, talk to her, get involved.   Lisa has a great idea to construct solar panels in the former Meridian plant.  With our focus on energy and reducing dependance on foreign oil intelligent, clever and PRACTICAL ideas are what we need.   Lisa has all this, and she and her husband, Calvin are nice people, too!  Congressman Zack Space has praised her ideas.  She also has a fantastic idea for a site for the new dog pound and ideas for operations.  Check out her website!

Lisa has challenged her opponent to a debate, but has received no response.

Dana Gilliland has her website up and running.  danagilliland.com  Dana has committed her efforts to bring the Procutor's office to the 21st Century by providing forms online for citizens and educating citizens on information they need in our society today for effective government.  She runs a respectful and tactful campaign.  Get to know her; she's worth it.

Jennifer Saxour, candidate for Clerk of Courts has extensive experience in working in law offices, first for a former local attorney, then for Ross County Proceutor's office.  She would like to see records available online for easy access, and better storage for records for easier access to avoid customer's having to wait for longer periods, and safer access for staff.

Shane Meldick is running for State Representative and is working with Congressman Zack Space.  Shane is a member of the farming community, drives a truck and he and his wife are the parents of seven children.

Wendall Brunton is no stranger to the political arena, and is seeking his second run as Jackson County Commissioner.  Wendall is partly responsible for some wise business decisions having been made in the county, such as purchasing the former Holzer Clinic building instead of the county wasting money on high rent with no ownership.

Welcome to our site!
